Bio(Detective Inspector) Alex Drake is a fictional character from the BBC series Ashes to Ashes, a sequel to the supremely excellent Life On Mars.
Alex is a police psychologist who discovers, after being shot in the present day, that she has been transported to a fantasy world in 1981. She is re-imagining the same characters from Sam Tyler’s creation in Life on Mars, having studied his case notes.
Her 'imaginary constructs', as she likes to call her new colleagues, provide her with the puzzles to try and get back to modern times and her daughter Molly.
